In the late hours of a Wednesday night in Minneapolis, the life of Glenn Thufon Bolton, a 41-year-old Black male from Maple Grove, was tragically cut short. On April 26, 2023, shortly before midnight, officers responded to the 2300 block of North 4th Street in the Hawthorne neighborhood. There, they discovered Bolton inside a running vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and attempted to render aid.
Despite their efforts, Bolton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office would later confirm that the cause of his death was multiple gunshot wounds and officially ruled it a homicide.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Minneapolis Police Department opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bolton's death. As of the initial reports, no arrests had been made in connection with the killing.
