On a crisp autumn night in Phoenix, Arizona, a young man named David Paul Santiago went out for a night of music and dancing, an evening that tragically ended in his death. On November 25, 2012, the 22-year-old was at a rave party held at a venue located at 2102 North 23rd Avenue. In the early morning hours, at approximately 1:15 a.m., an altercation broke out in the parking lot outside the event.
During the fight, David was brutally attacked by two other men.
One of the assailants punched him, causing him to fall to the ground. The second attacker then began to stomp on his head. Despite the severity of the assault, it was initially believed that David would survive his injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. However, the trauma to his head was too severe, and after ten long days of fighting for his life, David Paul Santiago succumbed to his injuries and passed away. His death was ruled a homicide by the Phoenix Police Department.
In the wake of the tragedy, investigators began a search for the two men responsible for the fatal beating. One of the suspects was described as a Hispanic male with light skin, standing between 5'9' and 5'10' tall, weighing approximately 180 to 190 pounds, with brown hair, and last seen wearing a red shirt. The description of the second suspect was more vague, only noted as a male with a thin build.
Despite the presence of a large crowd at the rave, estimated to be around a thousand people, gathering information proved to be challenging. Authorities and David's grieving family pleaded with the public for anyone with information to come forward. A Silent Witness program was activated, offering a cash reward for any tips that could lead to an arrest and indictment of the suspects. However, despite these efforts, no arrests have ever been publicly announced in connection with the murder of David Paul Santiago.
