In the late summer of 2015, a tragedy unfolded in the Jordan neighborhood of North Minneapolis that left a family grieving and a community searching for answers. Melvonta Jacox, a 25-year-old Black male, was fatally wounded on the afternoon of August 30th. The incident occurred in the front yard of a residence on the 2600 block of Irving Avenue North, where Jacox sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.
