On a summer day in August 2016, the quiet farming community of Mahnomen, Minnesota, was shaken by the deaths of a local couple. Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson, a 68-year-old Caucasian female, and her husband, Lynn Thompson, age 74, were found deceased at their rural home on August 9, 2016.
