Larry Borteh, a 34-year-old educator and youth mentor from Minneapolis, was found fatally shot in a car that had crashed in the Hawthorne neighborhood on July 2, 2020. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of North 21st Avenue and North 4th Street. Authorities believe Borteh was shot elsewhere, possibly in the 2100 block of North Fremont Avenue, before his car crashed. He was transported to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, where he succumbed to his injuries.
