In the summer of 2026, tragedy struck the city of Minneapolis when 28-year-old Ajoko Chris Gaye lost his life in a senseless act of gun violence. On the evening of July 19th, Gaye was one of five people shot in a mass shooting that unfolded outside a business in the 1800 block of Nicollet Avenue. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and Gaye was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
