On a summer afternoon in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the life of Devonte Steven Ingram, a 28-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short. On July 26, 2021, Ingram was found inside a vehicle in the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Regions Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident, which marked the city's 14th homicide of the year, was determined by investigators not to be a random act of violence.
