Michael Dashawn Redding, a 21-year-old resident of South St. Paul, was tragically killed on August 2, 2021. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Pine Tree Park apartment complex, located on the 800 block of North Hazel Street in St. Paul's east side. Multiple reports of gunshots prompted police to respond to the scene, where they found Redding suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
