In the warm evening hours of August 7, 2021, Prince Hinton, a 31-year-old Black male, was standing outside the Winner Gas Station in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The bustling corner of West Broadway and Lyndale Avenues North became the scene of a tragedy when gunfire erupted, and Hinton was fatally wounded.
