On December 12, 2021, Shantiasia Nickole Tardani, a 20-year-old woman from Muskegon, Michigan, was tragically killed in a shooting incident in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Minneapolis Police Department responded to multiple ShotSpotter activations around 3:30 a.m. in the 4400 block of Bryant Avenue North. Upon arrival, officers discovered Tardani and a man in a car in a nearby alley, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Tardani was pronounced dead at the scene, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was hospitalized in serious condition.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office confirmed Tardani's identity and cause of death. This incident marked the 92nd homicide in Minneapolis for the year 2021.
