In the late hours of November 18, 1901, a disturbance in Junction City, Kansas, tragically cut short the life of 46-year-old James R. White, a male police officer. Officer White, in the company of his partner, Officer Robert Cooper, was called to address a commotion caused by members of the 14th Cavalry stationed at nearby Fort Riley.
