On a summer evening in Kansas City, Kansas, the life of a Hispanic man, Martin L. Ramirez, 34, was tragically cut short. On August 9, 2014, authorities discovered his body inside a stolen SUV near the intersection of Osage Avenue and 18th Street Expressway. An investigation revealed that Ramirez had died from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was subsequently ruled a homicide.
