In the pre-dawn hours of December 16, 2018, the life of 15-year-old Taveon Brooks, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Kansas. A sophomore at F.L. Schlagle High School, he was known as a talented point guard on the basketball team and had a passion for creating music. Friends and family remembered him as a creative soul who enjoyed writing and making his own songs.
