In the quiet of a late Tuesday morning on April 21, 2020, the life of Michael Castleberry, a 45-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Kansas. A neighbor's alert to the sound of a gunshot just before 11:20 a.m. brought police to a home nestled in the 1800 block of Walker Avenue. Inside, responding officers made the grim discovery of Mr. Castleberry, who had been fatally shot.
