On a Tuesday afternoon, the 15th of December, 2015, tragedy struck in Kansas City, Kansas, forever altering the lives of one family. Deandre Goodson, a 28-year-old Black / African American man, was in the 1300 block of North Fourth Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. when his life was cut short. In a sudden act of violence, Goodson was shot in the face, a fatal wound that ended his journey. The incident was one of two homicides to occur in the city on that day, shaking the community.
