Death by Force

In the spring of 2016, the life of Tevon D. Stokes, a 34-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short in Topeka, Kansas. On the evening of Sunday, May 15, 2016, Stokes was found with life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. His death was quickly ruled a homicide by local law enforcement, marking another life lost to violence in the city.
