On a summer day in 2017, the life of Jai Feaira Barnes, a 28-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Kansas. On July 1st of that year, Barnes was killed by gunfire, his death quickly becoming the subject of a homicide investigation by local police. The incident that led to his death took place at the intersection of 1st Street and Walker Avenue, a location that would become synonymous with the unanswered questions surrounding his final moments.
