On a visit to see family in Topeka, Kansas, Donald L. Woolridge, an 81-year-old Black/African American male and a pastor from Florence, Arizona, was shot and killed on the evening of October 24, 2022. The Topeka Police Department reported that the shooting happened just after 7:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of SE Fremont St. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered Woolridge had already succumbed to his injuries.
