On June 24, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers from the Topeka Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Southwest 13th Street and Western Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 43-year-old Steven Ray Warden suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, Mr. Warden was pronounced dead at the scene.
