On the evening of June 24, 2024, in Topeka, Kansas, the life of 43-year-old Steven Ray Warden, a Caucasian male, was tragically cut short. Just after 9:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near Southwest 13th Street and Western Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered Warden suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate attention, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident was quickly ruled a homicide, marking the eighth such case in Topeka for the year.
