On April 30, 2016, at approximately 10:42 a.m., 30-year-old Leo Hackett was fatally shot in the 800 block of 21st Street NE, Washington, D.C. Responding to reports of gunfire, officers from the Fifth District discovered Hackett suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
