In the early morning hours of July 18, 2005, a report of a shooting sent officers to the 100 block of Wayne Place in Southeast Washington, D.C. There, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Rodney Dixon, a 55-year-old male from Southeast, D.C. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred on a residential street lined with apartment houses, near the Washington Highlands and Bellevue neighborhoods.
