Rodney Dixon, a 36-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was shot on July 18, 2005, in the 100 block of Wayne Place, Southeast. The incident occurred around 4:40 a.m., and officers responded to the scene following a report of a shooting. Dixon sustained life-threatening injuries from the gunshot and was immediately taken to the hospital. Despite extensive medical efforts, Dixon succumbed to his injuries on October 3, 2023, after battling complications for over 18 years.
