On the night of Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the life of 40-year-old Lowell Trueheart, a resident of Southeast, D.C., was tragically cut short. At approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 3500 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr.
Trueheart lying on the ground, unconscious and not breathing, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services from D.C. Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene, but despite their efforts, they found no signs of life. Lowell Trueheart was pronounced dead at the location of the incident. The case is now being investigated as a homicide by the Metropolitan Police Department, which has reached out to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
As of now, the investigation into Lowell Trueheart's death is ongoing, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
