In the winter of 1986, the life of Clifton Fleming Brown, a respected 44-year-old male associate professor of history at Howard University, was tragically cut short in his Washington, D.C. residence. On the morning of Monday, December 15, concerns grew when an academic associate could not get in touch with him.
