On December 26, 2017, Jermaine Phillip Bowens, aged 38, was found by Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body on the 2000 block of 22nd Street, NE, Washington, DC. He was immediately transferred to Medstar/Washington Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The investigation revealed that Bowens was one of the victims in a series of violent incidents that occurred over two days.
