In the winter of 2018, a burst of violence in Southeast Washington, D.C. claimed the life of 29-year-old Kenneth Poindexter. On the afternoon of Saturday, January 20th, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 4700 block of Benning Road, SE. Inside a residence, they discovered Poindexter suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal.
