On October 16, 2018, at approximately 11:23 p.m., Rubelio Gomez Cervantes, a 40-year-old resident of Riverdale, Maryland, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 900 block of Eastern Avenue NE, Washington, D.C. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The Metropolitan Police Department identified the victim as Rubelio Gomez Cervantes.
