In the summer of 2019, a burst of gunfire shattered the afternoon calm in the 300 block of K Street, Southeast in Washington, D.C., leaving a young man's life tragically cut short. On June 22nd, at approximately 3:18 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered 22-year-old George Hendrix, a Black male, unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services rushed him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
