In the late hours of an April evening in Northwest Washington, D.C., 28-year-old Shantal Teyonia Hill was fatally shot. The incident took place on April 15, 2020, in front of the Tyler House apartment building on North Capitol Street NW. Following what appeared to be a heated argument, Hill was shot multiple times in her legs, buttocks, and chest. Responding to the sound of gunshots, police officers discovered the scene.
As she lay bleeding on the sidewalk, a police officer rendered aid.
