On September 21, 2020, at approximately 6:07 PM, Cimerron Kennedy, a 29-year-old resident of Northeast, Washington, DC, was shot and killed in the 3500 block of Jay Street, Northeast. Officers from the Sixth District responded to the scene following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Kennedy suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Kennedy was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
