In the early morning hours of June 30, 2021, the life of 51-year-old Tony Bernard Jackson, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Washington, D.C.. At approximately 12:40 a.m., officers from the Sixth District responded to reports of a shooting in the 6000 block of Eads Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate response and efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Mr.
Jackson showed no signs of life and was pronounced dead at the scene. A resident of Capitol Heights, Maryland, his death was ruled a homicide. The Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation into the fatal shooting.
In the wake of the incident, the MPD has appealed to the public for assistance in gathering information about the circumstances that led to Mr. Jackson's death. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. To date, authorities have not released any detailed descriptions of potential suspects, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement continues to seek justice for Tony Bernard Jackson and his family.
