On the evening of July 2, 2021, in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C., 38-year-old Trecomey Logan, a male resident of Stafford, Virginia, was found inside a vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The discovery was made at approximately 8:22 p.m. in the 1400 block of Smith Place, Southeast, after members of the Seventh District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of an unconscious person.
Upon their arrival, officers located
Mr. Logan, who was unresponsive. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene and determined that he showed no signs consistent with life. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The case was ruled a homicide.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are actively investigating the shooting. To date, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the murder of Trecomey Logan, and no suspects have been officially named. The police department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the case to come forward and contact them.
