In the early morning hours of September 15, 2021, the sounds of gunshots shattered the quiet on the 4000 block of 1st Street, Southeast in Washington, D.C.. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District arrived at approximately 12:43 a.m., they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
