In a moment of devastating violence, 15-year-old Malachi Jackson, a bright and beloved young man from Washington, D.C., lost his life. On the night of Monday, April 11, 2022, at approximately 10:50 pm, Malachi was shot and killed in the 3000 block of 13th Street, Northwest, in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. His family said he had simply gone out for a late-night jog when he was gunned down. The shooting made him the youngest homicide victim in the city at that point in the year.
