In the afternoon hours of a Sunday in Washington, D.C., tragedy struck a young man from the Northeast quadrant of the city. James Gillespie, a 19-year-old male, was in the 100 block of 58th Street, Southeast, on November 13, 2022, when he was shot. The incident occurred shortly before 1:54 p.m., at which time a Sixth District officer discovered him suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
