In the winter of 2014, the life of 26-year-old Jason Emuel Bryant, a Black male from Washington, D.C., was tragically cut short. On the evening of February 28th, a burst of gunfire erupted in the 5000 block of Lee Street in Northeast Washington. When the violence ceased, Jason and his 34-year-old brother, Khalid Jamal Bryant, were both found suffering from gunshot wounds.
