In the late morning hours of February 26, 1990, the vibrant life of Cornell Gunter, a 53-year-old Black male singer, was tragically cut short on a street in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gunter, a celebrated tenor for the rhythm and blues group The Coasters, was discovered lifeless in his car, slumped over the steering wheel. He had been shot twice in the chest through the windshield of his vehicle.
