Brandon Peterson, a 17-year-old from Chicago, was fatally shot on June 15, 2014, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. He was killed in the early hours of Sunday morning, during a particularly violent weekend in Chicago, coinciding with Father's Day. The shooting occurred as Brandon was standing on a street in an area known for recurring violence. He was struck multiple times by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene.
