In the early hours of March 8, 2015, David Elliott Ferreira, a 29-year-old Caucasian male, was with two friends in the desert northwest of Las Vegas. The group was engaged in target practice at a well-known impromptu shooting area called Mud Hills. Shortly after 12:30 a.m., a tragic accident occurred.

A bullet, fired from one of their guns, ricocheted off a rock or a steel target and struck Ferreira in the chest. His friends immediately tried to render aid, but his injuries were too sever ...
