On a late Wednesday evening in Reno, Nevada, the life of 56-year-old Steve Petersdorf, a Caucasian male, was tragically cut short. The events of May 27, 2015, unfolded at the Mira Loma Shopping Center, where a dispute that began inside a business escalated and spilled out into the open.
Witnesses reported that Petersdorf was involved in a confrontation with another man, later identified by police as 56-year-old Edward Jose.
The argument, which had started indoors, took a fatal turn when the two men moved outside. It was there that Jose allegedly drew a handgun and shot Petersdorf. Emergency services were called to the scene, and Petersdorf was rushed by ambulance to Renown Regional Medical Center. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, which occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Reno Police Department launched a search for Edward Jose. Authorities announced they were looking for him in connection with the fatal shooting. Police released a description of the vehicle Jose was believed to be driving: a 2013 dark gray metallic four-door Dodge Ram pickup with Nevada license plates. The public was asked for any information that might lead to his whereabouts.
