A musician himself, he often turned to his guitar to write songs and unwind after a long day's work. His family described him as someone who consistently put others first, a quality that defined his final moments.
On the night of October 1, 2017, Brennan was attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival, a country music event on the Las Vegas Strip.
As a lone gunman opened fire on the crowd from a nearby hotel, chaos erupted. In a final act of selflessness, Brennan shielded his girlfriend from the barrage of bullets. He was struck and killed in the massacre.
The perpetrator of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history was identified as Stephen Paddock, who took his own life before he could be apprehended by law enforcement. Consequently, there were no arrests made or suspects to be tried in the death of Brennan Lee Stewart and the many other victims of that tragic night.
