On October 23, 2017, Danny Contreras, a 35-year-old man from Las Vegas, Nevada, was found dead in a vacant home in the northeastern part of the valley. The discovery was made after a woman called 911 to request a welfare check on the 5800 block of East Carey Avenue, near North Nellis Boulevard, reporting that she had heard a man groaning. Police arrived at the scene at 7:05 a.m. and found Contreras deceased.
