In a tragic turn of events on September 10, 2018, James Lester Wilson, a 52-year-old Caucasian male, was found deceased in Las Vegas, Nevada. His death was the result of a violent encounter that also claimed the life of another individual and ended with the suspect taking his own life. The incident unfolded at an apartment complex in the northwest valley, near North Buffalo Drive and West Lake Mead Boulevard, leaving a community in shock.
That day, a person walking through the complex
discovered Wilson's body on a walkway outside an apartment unit and immediately called for help. When Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they made a grim discovery inside the apartment. A woman, later identified as 50-year-old Monique Lane, was found deceased on the floor near a bedroom.
Further investigation inside the residence led to the discovery of the man believed to be responsible for the deaths of Wilson and Lane. Matthew Terracin, 51, was found on a couch in the living room with a rifle in his lap. His death was determined to be the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Investigators have stated they are confident that Terracin was the perpetrator of the double homicide before he committed suicide.
The Clark County Coroner's Office officially ruled James Wilson's death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
