Jack Reginald Beaton Jr., a 54-year-old Caucasian male, was celebrating his 23rd wedding anniversary with his wife, Laurie, at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, on the evening of October 1, 2017. The couple, from Bakersfield, California, had traveled to the festival with friends and were enjoying the music when the sound of automatic gunfire suddenly pierced the night.
