On December 24, 2018, 18-year-old Kwavon'tai Gregory Thomas was fatally shot in the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy near Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas. Witnesses reported that Thomas was running from someone when he was shot multiple times. Despite immediate assistance from bystanders and officers, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
