In the early summer of 2020, the life of Edward Landscott Barr, a 29-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Las Vegas, Nevada. On the morning of June 3rd, a maintenance worker at the Harbor Island Apartments, located at 370 E. Harmon Ave., made a grim discovery. In front of a downstairs apartment, the worker found Barr's body.
The Clark County coroner's office would later confirm that Barr had died from gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a
homicide. At the time of the incident, details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting were scarce. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department opened an investigation into his death, but information about a possible motive or any potential suspects was not immediately available to the public.
In the days that followed, law enforcement officials appealed to the community for assistance in solving the case.
