On January 10, 2023, Jonet Dominguez, a 43-year-old Hispanic male and co-owner of All In Towing in Las Vegas, Nevada, was fatally shot at his business during a dispute with a customer over a rented vehicle. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. when 27-year-old Jaton Terrell Herder arrived at the tow yard to retrieve a 2022 silver Tesla he had rented from Hertz.
Herder lacked the proper documentation to claim the vehicle, and when Dominguez refused to release it without the necessary paperwork, Herder became irate. Surveillance footage captured Herder pulling a firearm from a bag and shooting Dominguez through a window before fleeing the scene.
Dominguez was transported to University Medical Center Trauma but succumbed to his injuries. Later that day, Herder contacted an attorney and arranged to surrender to authorities. He was arrested in Henderson, Nevada, and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon. Herder declined to provide a statement to police without his attorney present.
Jonet Dominguez was remembered by family and friends as a devoted husband, father, and community member. He and his wife, Angela, had ten children together. Dominguez was known for his deep faith and commitment to helping others, including operating a nonprofit organization that assisted the homeless.
A candlelight vigil was held on January 13, 2023, at Awaken Las Vegas Christian Church, where hundreds gathered to honor Dominguez's life. Mourners shared memories and paid tribute to his positive impact on the community. Angela Dominguez expressed gratitude for the support and encouraged others to live with kindness and love, reflecting her husband's values.
