On March 22, 2021, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire near East Sahara Avenue and Van Patten Street, alerted by ShotSpotter technology. Upon arrival, they discovered 42-year-old Christopher Brown lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
