A man was killed Wednesday morning in a drive-by shooting in central Phoenix.

The 54-year-old Alan Stewart and a woman were standing outside an apartment complex at 18th and Adams streets around 2 a.m. when the shooting happened.

Phoenix Police said six to 10 shots were fired by someone witnesses said was driving a dark SUV. Sgt. Michael Combs said the woman wasn’t harmed but Stewart collapsed and said he had been shot.
