In the late afternoon of November 9, 2021, a dispute in a Las Vegas alley turned deadly, claiming the life of 48-year-old Christopher Masters, a Caucasian male. The fatal encounter unfolded behind the 3700 block of Royal Crest Street, near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Investigators believe a physical altercation between Masters and another man escalated, culminating in the shooting.
Responding to a report of gunfire at approximately 3:53 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department
officers discovered Masters in the alley, suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The shooter had fled the area before law enforcement arrived, initiating a homicide investigation.
The investigation quickly progressed, and within days, authorities identified a suspect. On November 18, 2021, police arrested 18-year-old Jeremiya Hines in connection with the shooting. Hines was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faced a charge of open murder.
