On the night of July 7, 2022, a dispute that began over music at a Las Vegas recording studio tragically ended the life of 23-year-old Corvoney Tompson, a Black male. Tompson, along with another man and Isaiha Duckket, 26, were at the Blue Wav recording studio located on Paseo Del Prado. An argument erupted between the three men as they were rapping.
The disagreement escalated, and an employee asked them to leave the studio. The conflict, however, continued into the parking lot.
It was there that Duckket reportedly pulled out a gun and shot both Tompson and the other man. Tompson was shot in the chest and died at the scene. The second victim, a 24-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries but survived.
Surveillance footage from the area was instrumental in the investigation, capturing the chilling moments of the shooting. The video allegedly showed Duckket shooting Tompson, and then standing over him to fire four more shots after he had fallen to the ground. Following the shooting, Duckket fled the scene in the surviving victim's vehicle.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detectives identified Duckket as the suspect through witness interviews and by comparing the surveillance footage to his Facebook profile, where he went by the name "Finesse Dollas." He was arrested and booked at the Clark County Detention Center. Duckket, a five-time felon, now faces charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery, grand larceny, and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
